Qui-Gon Jinn Lightsaber Tutorial – Cheap and Easy Star Wars DIY

In this tutorial I’ll show you how to make a Qui-Gon Jinn Lightsaber out of mostly cardboard.

Qui-Gon Jinn Lightsaber

MATERIALS USED:
2 wrapping paper rolls, one slightly bigger than the other.
Scraps of 2 or 3 mm craft foam
Silver adhesive foil, or tinfoil, or silver paint
Hot glue gun
3 different bottle caps
Black paint, red paint
Paintbrush
Scissors
Cardstock scraps
4 flat plastic beads

There’s not a lot of pieces to the Qui-Gon Jinn lightsaber, it’s pretty straight-forward in its design. But cutting all the little notches does get quite time consuming. So as an alternative, you could also just glue some strips of craft foam along it instead of cutting if you need to speed up the process.

I used the same silver adhesive foil I use for most of my lightsabers. But if you can’t get your hands on that, gluing on tinfoil will also work, or just use some metallic silver paint.

May the force be with you.
