In this video, I’ll show you a super easy Valentine’s Day project that’s just perfect to make with the kids. DIY Valentine ice hearts that you can hang outdoors to decorate for Valentine’s Day.

Crafts for Kids - Super Easy DIY Valentine Ice Hearts

MATERIALS USED:
Plastic or silicone heart-shaped soap mold or cookie mold
Red yarn
Scissors
Cup
Red food coloring and water
Mixing spoon

You might already have all the supplies you need to make these DIY Valentine hearts in your kitchen. Heart shaped soap molds are easy to find inexpensively at your local craft store or online. I switched to all silicone soap molds a few years ago, because they’re so much easier to clean than plastic mold.

I still had a few of my old plastic molds hanging around though, so I used one for these little ice hearts. However, silicone will be a lot easier to use if you can find it. You don’t have to worry about silicone molds cracking the way cold plastic does.

If it’s not cold enough outside to freeze ice, you can also stick your soap mold in the freezer. You’ll just have to remember that they’ll start melting when you pull them out.

But if you’re “lucky” enough to live in a place where it’s stone-cold for Valentine’s Day, the weather should give you plenty of freezing help 😉 Plus, you’ll be able to hang your DIY Valentine hearts outside in the trees with no fear of them melting.
