What Is Wonderflex?
What is Wonderflex? It’s a great costumemaking material that’s easier to use and far stronger than anything one can make out of craft foam.
So this isn’t actually a tutorial, it’s more of a basic chat about the thermoplastic Wonderflex. I had a request to do a video for this and since it was an easy request, I jumped right on it, since I’m still harvesting flowers like a madman and therefore squished for time…
Wonderflex is a cool plastic that’s activated by heat and can be formed into any shape. If you’ve never use it, it’s worth trying at least once just for the experience. It makes costume construction much easier (and much less likely to break). I don’t use it a lot in my own costumes since for myself I use mostly free materials, like cardboard, and just be really careful with the costumes. When I make costumes to fill orders for people, however, I often use Wonderflex because it makes construction faster, and so much stronger. I don’t have to worry about the costumes getting broken during shipping when I make them with Wonderflex. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you may have read my previous post about the benefits of using it in a business.
You can get Wonderflex by the yard at WonderflexWorld.com and the above video just gives a few of the basic points of Wonderflex.
