DIY Eye of Sauron Lamp

Got a plain old lamp? Why not turn it into a dark tower topped off with the Eye of Sauron. All it takes is a little paint.

DIY Eye of Sauron Lamp

MATERIALS USED:
An old lamp and shade
Black Paint
Non-aerosal spray fabric paint in a couple shades of orange
Black, Red, Yellow, orange brush on fabric paint
Yellow Puffy Paint
Paint brush
One ring and gold chain (tutorial here)

My grandmother gave me a couple of old lamps, and since everything I own needs to have a little color, I decided to turn it into an Eye of Sauron lamp from Lord of the Rings. I have a room that is somewhat “nerd” themed, so I figured the Eye of Sauron would right in.

I chose to make the base resemble the dark tower by painting it black. But if you want to get a little more detailed, you could glue rocks or clay shapes to the base to make it appear more like it did in the movie.

The ring I used here is leftover from a tutorial I did a while back. It seemed like a good way to put it to use.
