DIY Steampunk Elf Boots
A few metallic leaves and some gears can add an elvish twist to a pair of steampunk boots.
MATERIALS USED:
2nd hand pair of boots
Shoelaces (or cording)
Metallic gold paint
Metallic copper paint
Paintbrush
Two metal dragonflies
Wooden leaves
Various gears
Power-tac or other strong glue (My boots were imitation leather, but if your boots are real leather, you might need special glue because the oils in leather prevent glues from adhering)
The dragonflies I used on these boots aren’t exactly “elvish” but I figured if anybody was going to be talking to dragonflies, it’d be an elf. So they ended up on the boots…once they’d been properly steampunked of course. However, you can use something other than dragonflies if you prefer.
These boots will be going with the rest of my steampunk elf costume, which I’m still slowly piecing together. If you just want “normal” steampunk boots, you could use similar techniques without the leaves.
