How To Use Beeswax Wraps as a Plastic Alternative (reusable, biodegradable) and care for them
When I mention my beeswax wraps, some people don’t know what they are. And then they wonder how to use beeswax wraps. So in this video, I’ll show you a few different ways to use and care for them, and what makes them so great.
Beeswax wraps come in multiple sizes so you’ll be able to fit them over almost any dish in your kitchen. I got my wraps from the local farm market a few years ago, and I’ve been in love with them ever since. They’re a great reusable, biodegradable alternative to plastic. You can use them in many of the same ways you’d use plastic.
Depending on how often you use them, and how well you take care of them, they’ll last at least a year. At that point you can “refresh” them by putting them on baking paper on a cookie sheet and placing them in an oven on low. This allows the wax to remelt itself over the wrap. (Just be sure not to leave them in the oven too long, or the wax will melt right off the wrap into a puddle).
If your wraps are too worn, you can also sprinkle some fresh beeswax flakes over them before sticking them in the oven. The heat will melt the flakes into the wraps sealing up any holes. And eventually, you might even take on the challenge of making your own beeswax wraps!
There can be a bit of a learning curve when you’re first learning how to use beeswax wraps, but once you get the hang of them, they’re fabulous! So do you use beeswax wraps? If so leave me a comment below and let me know how you like them.

Hi Amber, A lot of good articles this month… Thank You, Any Idea where i can get some Bees Wax Wraps ?
Thanks Ron, glad you’ve been enjoying them π I got my beeswax wraps from Impact Earth. They’re in Rochester, and during the summer months they came to the Victor market. Or there’s also a place in Geneva called the Waste Not Shop that sells them.
