How To Make Awesome Costumes Without Breaking The Bank

As the title suggests Cosplaying When You’re Broke a book about cosplaying on a low budget, because so many of us are doing exactly that πŸ˜‰ While we’d all love to have one of those $500 insanely perfect detail costumes, most of us can’t afford to drop the better part of a month’s rent on a costume. So I wrote this book to show cosplay money saving tips and tricks that can be used to make great costumes without breaking the bank.

Budget Cosplay Techniques

The book is divided into 2 sections, with the first half of the book explaining the various money-saving methods, and how to apply them to your own costumes. The second half of the book consists of 8 full costume tutorials where I show exactly how and where I use the money saving techniques from the first half of the book.

The techniques are not costume specific, they can be applied to any costume you want to make. The 8 tutorials are simply to demonstrate the techniques being used in action. The techniques are also listed in bold throughout the tutorials to draw attention to the techniques being used. Each of the 8 main costume tutorials in Cosplaying When You’re Broke comes with its own full length accompanying video tutorial.

Video Tutorials

At the bottom of the materials list on each costume’s introductory page will be a link to a webpage containing all the PDF templates you might need for that costume’s creation, as well as the full video tutorial for the costume. I won’t be posting those tutorials publicly anywhere else; I made them specifically to go with this book, so you can read the written tutorial and also watch the accompanying video tutorial to get the best of both worlds.

I will not be posting those videos on my YouTube channel, they are exclusive to the book. However, I will be posting a small piece of each of those tutorials publicly on my YouTube channel. You can watch those videos to get a taste of what’s in the book. They are as follows:

Emma Frost Diamond Skin
I Dream of Jeannie Pants

The Witcher Sword
Celtic Warrior Medieval Bracers
Poison Ivy’s Mask
Sub Zero Mask
Red Sonja Pauldrons
Raven Belt
The Witcher Medallion
