Had a few requests for a DIY Jack Sparrow costume tutorial so this is the first part of the costume, and the rest will be coming in sections over the next several weeks. It’s a little time consuming (mostly because you have to wait for paints and glues to dry), but other than that, fairly simple to make.
The entire base of my Jack Sparrow sparrow compass is just corrugated cardboard from an old box with a few of the details provided with craft foam. For the hinge and eyescrews you’ll have to use a glue that will adhere to metal, because hot glue won’t. But you can just use hot glue for most of the rest.
So good luck and drink up, me hearties, yo ho!
