Power Rangers DIY Dragon Dagger

In this video I’ll show you how to make a cheap and easy DIY dragon dagger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Most of this uses scrap materials, or common household items (paper fasteners anyone?).

DIY Dragon Dagger - Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

MATERIALS USED:
Cardboard
Pencil
Utility knife
Scissors
A thin, round tube
Glue that will bond plastic (Power-tac)
Hot glue gun
Scrap pieces of craft foam
3 gold paper fasteners
Black Metallic paint
Gold Metallic paint
Metallic silver paint (Silver Anniversary)
Green paint
Metallic Gold puffy paint

I’ve never seen Power Rangers, so there may be a few inaccuracies in this DIY dragon dagger. And I really wasn’t sure where he blew on the flute to summon his dragonzord, but hopefully I got close. (The ending scene was my brother’s idea, since he was a big Power Rangers fan. He said it always took the dragonzord forever to show up). The plastic tube I used for the center is left over from the tubing I used on the Boba Fett costume. It came from a fish tank cleaning device. I used it because I had part of it left, but you could also just use a thin cardboard tube instead. That would also make it more stable.

And yes, I’ve had requests to do a Power Rangers costume as well, so look for the full Green Ranger costume at some point in the future.
