Power Rangers – DIY Power Rangers Morpher (cardboard)

If you’ve got a little cardboard you can make a cheap and easy DIY Power Rangers morpher.

Power Rangers - DIY Power Rangers Morpher (cardboard)

MATERIALS USED:
Thin cardboard scraps
Pencil
Something round to trace
Scissors
Puffy paint
Metallic gold paint
Corrugated cardboard
Hot glue gun (or other strong glue)
Paper
Chrome silver paint
Black, red, and white paint and thin-tipped brushes
Thin magnets (I used an old business card)
Scrap piece of 3mm craft foam (or more thick cardboard)
White school glue and Foam brush
Black ribbon

Since I’d already made the Power Ranger communicator and the Dragon Dagger, I received several requests to do a DIY Power Rangers morpher tutorial. So I constructed this cheap and easy morpher mainly out of cardboard and little paint. I also used magnets to allow the coins to be interchanged on one morpher.

I made the coins for the white and green ranger, so they could go with the dragon dagger, but since they are interchangeable, you can make coins for whichever, and as many Power Rangers as you want. When I got to the last parts of the morpher, I found I didn’t have the black ribbon I thought was in my stash, so I just used a gray one I had on hand instead. However, if you have a black ribbon, it will definitely look better on this morpher.

And since I’ve still never seen Power Rangers (yes, I’ve already been told this is sacrilege 😉) I ran it by my brother who is a huge Power Rangers fan to make sure there were no mistakes. And then I let him live out his fantasy by using this little DIY Power Rangers morpher in the end skit of the video.

Hope you enjoy this tutorial. Leave me a comment below and let me know which version of Power Rangers is your favorite, and it might end up on my list as a future tutorial!
